Center Florida has a brand new attraction...the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure theme park whose grand opening on June 18, 2010, the $200 million-plus addition to Universals enormously popular Islands of Adventure.  Within two months of opening, the Wizarding Worlds main ride Forbidden Journey passed the million-rider mark.  The ride is located in the grand Hogwarts castle area, which doubles as an elaborate, detailed and winding line which lifts guests through several action-packed scenes of Harry Potters wizarding life.

Universal said their future success is credited to J.K. Rowling amazingly successful book series which the park closely follows from a collection of themed rides, shops and eateries all based on Harry Potters magical world.

With the launch of this new park, Universal has announced that it will raise the price of its one-day park pass to $82 (which matches the increase that Walt Disney World recently announced.  Additionally the resort will add $5 to its multi-day tickets which will include park-to-park passes that include admission to both theme parks on the same day. Another hike will be online ticket prices which are usually $10 cheaper, will also rise in price.  These new higher ticket prices took effect Aug 16th.
